Dear Gr 9's,

Next Monday, we will have a task day. You will write the task in class. What is the difference between task and test? You can check you notes and ask your friends for ideas. The deadline to submit the task is the end of the period. If you have to miss class on Monday  (May 12), I will require a note from your parents/guardian.

Otherwise, you will receive a 0 for the task, which is worth 12% of your mark.

(1) Use the information you collected today to calculate the cost of baseboard
(2) You need to write down/figure out

• Perimeter of the room with units (m)
• Baseboard measurement with units (m)
• Calculation of the baseboard cost (Show me the work and how you get the cost)
• Draw a scale diagram based on the sketch one provided in the handout. (On the grid paper provided)

Gr 11/12 Test for Chapter 2 is coming up!!

Hi Dear Gr 11/12,
We are going to have a test on Chapter 2. We will have a pre-test on Friday (February 21st) and the real one on Monday (February 24th).

The topics includes:

Gross Income

• CPP Deduction
• EI Deduction
• Taxable Income
• Federal Tax
• Provincial Tax

The percentage for CPP and EI will be given to you. The federal and provincial tax table will also be given to you. The pre-test is very similar to the real one so you know what is going to be on the test.

REMINDER: CH 1 Task is DUE ON FRIDAY (FEBRUARY 21ST) !!!

Hello Dear Gr 11/12,

Hello My Dear Class,
It is a pleasure to meet all you today. As I mentioned in class, there will be updated posts for each class so you will always have the updated information regarding our course.

Finding a job: Where will you find these information? What will you look for in the Ads? How do you determine which job is best for you?

Gr.12

Renting an apartment? What features would you look for in a apartment? What are the hiding costs for renting? What does utility/hydro/cable mean in the Ads?

Changes to Gr 11/12 class:

Change 1: I would like to reform our class a bit. In order to facilitate our class better, I will provide handouts with practice questions for the whole class (mainly Gr 11 materials). I will supplement with extra handout for certain Gr 12 topics but mostly we will follow the Gr 11 content.

Change 2: The daily lesson plan will be posted on the website to reduce paper waste.

Change 3: The exam will weigh for 30% of your mark and your tasks and tests will each reduce 5%.
(Thinking Q.. how much will you tests and tasks weigh now?)

We will go through some of these changes tomorrow in class.

Gr. 9

We try to work out some money questions today. If you have any questions or need extra help, please let me know and I can arrange a meeting with you. Like I promise, I will also prepare some extra materials for the ones who needs a little bit more challenging questions tomorrow.

Exam will now weight 30% of your mark and your tasks and tests will each reduce by 5%. I will update the course outline materials on the website too.
